Inner strength – meditation as support and inspiration throughout your workday

Recently, I was interviewed by Minna Anttila for her Let’s Grow Together Podcast where we talked about one of my favourite topics.

Something I’ve been practising for over 22 years.

Something that is a big part of my daily life.

Something I absolutely love doing.

Something that’s as important to me as eating.

Something that has transformed my life.

Something I teach.

Something I also use as a tool when helping my clients.

It is meditation.

Gone are the days when meditation was a weird topic. These days, meditation is mainstream – and I bet you’ve tried it too. Or maybe you’re practising it daily.

But how is your relationship with meditation at the moment? Did you meditate today?

If yes – great job, keep going!

If not, why not?

Too busy? Absolutely no time to meditate? → You know what they say:

“If you don’t have 5 minutes to meditate, then you need to meditate for an hour.”

Or maybe you know the benefits, but making time for it still feels uncomfortable. → I hear you. Your ego might be scared that something will surface you’re not ready to face.

Or maybe you don’t know where to start, or how to get better at it. → Here’s a simple start: set an alarm for 5 minutes. Sit on your sofa, close your eyes, and surrender to stillness. And as for “getting better”? All you need is practice. What matters is simply doing it. Over time, you’ll naturally grow into longer sessions or explore different styles.

Or maybe you tried it once and didn’t like it. → Yep, it can feel difficult, uncomfortable, boring, annoying… even like a waste of time. We all feel that at times – even those of us who meditate regularly!

But what keeps drawing us back to the practice are the benefits it gives:

– Less stress, more relaxation in body and mind

– Stronger self-connection

– A clearer mind

– Greater clarity around your intentions

– Improved health

– Better mood

– Less self-judgment, more self-love

– Healing

– etc.

Meditation and Your Work

Meditation is an amazing tool for everyday work.

Feeling stressed? → Do 5 minutes of breathwork at your desk.

Feeling tired? → Close your eyes for 2 minutes and recharge.

Lacking inspiration? → Go for a short meditative walk outside.

Not many businesses are tapping into the power of meditation — which is a pity. It’s such low-hanging fruit. Not just because of the personal benefits, but because meditation helps transform business as well.

I meditate a lot during my work – and I teach my clients to do the same. They’re often surprised by the many ways meditation becomes a tool for:

– Gaining new insights and perspectives

– Identifying gaps in processes

– Restructuring goals, focus, and direction

– Realigning strategies

– Connecting with the deeper purpose of the business

– Healing limiting beliefs within the team

– Taking bigger, bolder risks

– Finding inspiration

– Discovering brand essence

– Creating marketing campaigns

– And more…

If you or your business is open to using meditation as a tool for growth and wellbeing, I would love to talk with you.

Regardless of your current relationship with meditation — in life, at work, or in business — I hope you learn to love the practice more and more.

Because taking time to meditate is an act of self-love. As through meditation, you begin to accept yourself just as you are.
