Collaboration Is How We Rise: A Way Forward for Women in Business

We still don’t talk enough about collaboration between women: what true collaboration can be like, and what kind of impact it could have if we actually leaned into it.

I’m not talking about the polished “we should support each other” slogans that sound nice but don’t always come with real action. I mean real, heart-led collaboration.

The type of collaboration, where we move forward together, side by side. Where we trust the other. Where we don’t have to hide our ambition, or shrink our light. Or be afraid.

I fully believe that when we walk together, we don’t lose our uniqueness, we amplify it. Your story, your soul, your path, your ideas, your goals, your scars, and your light are all needed, now more than ever.

Collaboration doesn’t take any of that away. It reminds you that you were never meant to carry all of it alone.

It Is Safe to Collaborate

That’s something I had to learn for myself. Because for many of us businesswomen, it hasn’t always felt safe.

Maybe you have been in a workplace where competition between women was the real culture. Maybe another woman took credit for work you did. Maybe you worked in an office where gossip was louder than the support around you. Maybe you’ve felt the sting of another woman pulling the rug out from underneath you. Or that quiet moment of jealousy when she got the promotion or the client you were hoping for.

I believe we’ve all been there, in some form.

We’ve been shaped by systems, our own experiences, institutions, history, and inherited trauma – taught to compete, to prove ourselves, to fight for limited space and success.

We’ve been told to chase:

  • The highest grades
  • The ideal beauty
  • The top job title
  • The biggest company exit

Competition has always been part of our lives – the story of survival we’ve carried for generations. It is coded into our nervous systems and minds. And yes, a little healthy, playful competition can be fun and help us even grow.

But what if that survival-mode competition isn’t needed anymore?

What if we rewire our mind and nervous system and make collaboration truly feel safe again?

When Women Collaborate, We Create a Safety Net that Boosts Our Power

There’s something deeply powerful when women come together with open hearts to connect, co-create, and build together.

When that kind of collaboration happens, strategy becomes sisterhood. The sisterhood becomes a safety net. And the safety net becomes a reminder that your light doesn’t take anything away from mine — it helps us both shine brighter.

I truly believe that when women collaborate, we don’t just move faster or further but we move deeper. And that depth is something so many of us yearn for in the business world.

Together, we bring more balance into systems that have long leaned on only masculine forms of power. We create space in the business world for qualities like intuition, softness, empathy, and emotional intelligence.

Most importantly, together, we remember something we’ve been made to forget: There is more than enough. Enough clients. Enough success. Enough visibility. Enough money. Enough space for all of us.

True collaboration is genuine feminine power. A power that lives within us all.

Heal with me for a sec.

I think we can all look ourselves in the mirror and ask: How could I be even more collaborative today with other women in business?

You could…

  • Invite a new woman into your inner business circle.
  • Open your heart a little more to that woman at work that keeps competing with you.
  • Share your wisdom freely with a woman who reminds you of your younger self.
  • Refer her name.
  • Build something together.
  • Celebrate another woman’s win, sincerely and fully. There is more than enough for you, too.

And if you feel a bit uneasy, or that you cannot trust other women, that’s normal. Take a moment to fully feel it and let it go. Then remind yourself: you are safe. Collaboration with other women is safe.

That’s how you start to rewire your body and mind, and be part of the collective healing that is already happening. Because, we will do this together.

And when you need deeper guidance, I am here for you.
